You've eaten kiwi before, haven't you? You know... those delicious green fruits that grow inside these brown protective layers --- the skin. I've heard the skin of a kiwi is completely edible and is even loaded with way more fiber and vitamin C than the actual fruit inside. Just like oranges!
Kiwi is a low-calorie, fat-free fruit that offers a variety of nutritional benefits. “Kiwi is packed with vitamin C, a nutrient which is a powerful antioxidant and can help ward off disease and slow signs of aging,” says Lauren Marek, R.D., a faculty member at the University of Colorado Anschutz Health and Wellness Center on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colo.
These become a nice set of refreshing slices of fruits in desserts and snacks at any time of the day. Try it with frozen yogurt and you will suddenly feel blessed that you are well and alive to be having the opportunity to be biting onto that succulent sweet taste of a produce. Mmmm!
