Here are 15 healthy habits to help you make healthier lifestyle changes:

Practice Meditation

The best times to practice meditation is first thing in the morning before you sip your cup of coffee (but after you've gotten up and washed your face) and in the evening before dinner.

Give your self some time and sit in silence, closing your eyes. Help yourself to find a comfortable spot to sit at (preferably a spot that has back support), and tuck yourself in a warm, cozy blanket. Focus on deep breathing, concentrate on positive thinking, or simply allow your mind to wander about.

Stretch

Pay attention to your body throughout the day and stretch when you're feeling cramped, in need of a pick-me-up, or just tired. Get your blood flowing in the morning and try a couple of sun salutations. End your day with a seated stretch, bending at your hips in slow, controlled movements. Stay steady with these positions for as long as you feel is necessary.

Settle Down

A good healthy habit to get into is to turn off all your technology devices 10 to 30 minutes before going to bed. Looking at the screen can disrupt your sleeping pattern and is even associated with the duration of sleep, as shown in research (1).

Get Active

Enjoy the sunrise in the mornings by taking a jog down the block. Substitute jogging for biking. Invest in a set of jump ropes and perform jumping jacks in your best convenience. Walk with your dog. A good way to freshen yourself and reduce stress is to take a shower (1).

Be very careful about the temperature. If the water is blazingly hot it can actually worsen and damage your hair health, as well as your skin. A good strategy people use (along with myself) is to turn down the temperature two minutes before the end of my shower. This short burst of coldness will close your pores and hair follicles, which is a commonly known trick to wake you up instantly.

Yoga

Yoga is a great addition to any fitness routine and provides great benefits like helping you become more mindful and stretching out the body.

Try the Yoga Burn program which has been proven to be very successful. The secret to the success of the Yoga Burn Program lies in what's referred to as

Dynamic Sequencing. Dynamic Sequencing is the way in which the yoga burn program teaches you how to properly perform each movement and then continues to adapt and increase the challenge at the precise moment your body starts to get used to the routine. This forces your body to change and adapt, which in turn, helps to build a shapely, feminine body that not only looks better, but feels better too! The unique 3 phase program guides you through a series of different videos that are laid out in a way that will keep your body and mind guessing to ensure you do not get bored, or hit a plateau.

Take the Stairs

In that opportunity where you can decide to get the stairs instead of the elevator, challenge yourself to go up the stairs. As you take a step, place your foot more firmly on the floor, allowing your entire foot to place itself on the step, then burst out of your step and repeat with the next one.

Also, stairs can come in great handy when you're trying to shed calories. You can walk up the stairs for a mere ten minutes and you will shed 100 calories in no time. These are great for building leg strength and shaping several muscles in your lower body.

Fix your Posture

Perfecting your posture is an important way to live a healthier lifestyle.

Why?

A bad posture provides many negative health consequences, including reduced circulation, headaches, chronic muscle pain, and even mood imbalances.

Give your Eyes a Break

Experts in eye health recommend the 20-20-20 rule in order to help preserve eye health (1).

In other words, for every 20 minutes you spend on the computer, turn and glance away from the screen for a minimum of 20 seconds by looking at something that is 20 feet away.

Get Adequate Sleep

Another huge way to live a healthier lifestyle is to get adequate sleep, or get enough sleep. Getting enough sleep provides huge benefits and solves many problems. It can even help slim your body in many ways. Although everyone is different, adults generally require 7 to 8.5 hours of sleep per night.
